Okinawan International Karate Tournament 2009 獅子舞(shishimai dance)

This tournament is a big deal for the karate world because this tournament represents the unification of the 4 major Karate organizations in Okinawa. It was held in Naha's amazing martial arts stadium the Budokan (沖縄県立武道館)

This is the shishimai dance (獅子舞) for the opening ceremony.

Currently, I have about 10 gigs worth of kata's and demonstrations... in a week or so I'm going to get my hands on 240 gigs worth.

where are you from, we all lost too (my mum won by default in the 1st round lol) we had about 3 competitiors because 2 of us werent signed in the books for some reason so one watched and the other (4th dan) coached.

Man we missed so much, we were all back up in the rensei dojo's and i was cooking in the windows as all the karateka's were lined up all the way up to the 2nd floor! New Zealands sign holder fainted suring the introductions of the sensei's

I was there I competed in the adlut male kate and lost in the first round but it was a good experiance..and i first time to okinawa
