Newstalk ZB Christchurch 1098AM The return of local programming June 2010

In the past Newstalk ZB has run it's own local programming in Christchurch. In 2008 Christchurch listeners could hear a local breakfast by John Dunne and Ken Ellis followed by a local morning show by Ali Jones.
Following Paul Holmes departure from the network at the end of 2008 TRN decided to give the local breakfast the axe and replace the show with The Mike Hosking breakfast. A year later the morning show was also axed.

However in June 2010 after many complaints from listeners The Radio Network actually brought back a local morning show to Christchurch. The new show is presented by Mike Yardly who worked on Newstalk ZB Christchurch a few years ago and more recently as part of the network programming.

This clip shows parts of the last morning show hosted by Leighton Smith in Christchurch and also the very first morning show presented by Mike Yardly. Also the local news service in Christchurch.
