Mitch Winehouse called designer Jean Paul Gaultier's "tribute" to his daughter "devastating and insensitive!"

WHILE FASHION FOLLOWERS FROM WERE LOVING ALL THE SHOWS AT PARIS FASHION WEEK, THERE WAS ONE GUY WHO WAS NOT HAPPY. AT. ALL... MITCH WINEHOUSE.

DESIGNER JEAN PAUL GAULTIER UNVEILED WHAT HE CALLED A CATWALK "TRIBUTE" TO AMY WINEHOUSE ON WEDNESDAY, AND HER FATHER CALLED THE COLLECTION "DEVASTATING AND INSENSITIVE."

MODELS WORE PENCIL SKIRTS AND CORSET DRESSES AND SPORTED AMY'S SIGNATURE BEEHIVE HAIRDO AND HEAVY-BLACK EYELINER AS THEY WALKED THE RUNWAY TO AMY'S MUSIC...

AND AS SOON AS MITCH HEARD ABOUT IT, HE TWEETED, "We don't support the Jean Paul Gaultier collection. It's in bad taste."

LATER HE TOLD LONDON'S THE SUN, "We're still grieving for her loss, and we've had a difficult week with the six month anniversary of Amy's death. To see her image lifted wholesale to sell clothes was a wrench we were not expecting or consulted on."

BUT GAULTIER IS STANDING BY HIS COLLECTION. AFTER THE SHOW HE SAID TOLD REPORTERS, "She was an icon of fashion and truly, the sense of how she mixed the clothes — it was great. It is very joyous."

he should have talked to her dad about it before making the ''tribute''... and i kinda think her dad was telling the truth and that fashion designer wanted attention..

Though I love Gaultier's desings I think it's ok to work with Lady Ga Ga and Madona while they help shape the show, it is not the same with Amy Winehouse since she was not a part of it and the family's feelings were not considered. Just because she is dead it does not grant us the right to comercialize her image, especially since it's been so recent and the family is still grieving for her loss. There is a tendency in fashion to glamourize tragedy, this may come across as cruel. Consult first.

she was an icon and I respect that. I dont think it was totally insensitive but he should have asked Mitch's permission.

While I don't think the collection in itself was insensitive, I do think it's timing and the lack of consideration for her loved ones is.

she had a great and iconic look, not to mention a unique one. it is a compliment to her family that he should chose to dedicate one of his collections to her look, not offensive at all. if only we could all pull off that look. not the drug addled one but the inspired retro gorgeous one. she was a very troubled woman but she was beautiful inside too and that is what we remember. don't forget bereaved people are in an altered state and he may come to appreciate the sentiment one day.
