I am proudly to present this wonderful reef "created" by Martin Veldhuis.
This Aquarium has a different philosophy than the Berlin method. It has a unique configuration.
The technique behind this aquarium :160 x 65 x 65 centimeters:
-approximately 750 liters
-Only 6x80 Watt T5 (0,64 watt / liter)
-Aqua Medic 1000 Multi SL skimmer
-Sump with a trickle filter with Bio Balls
-DIY Zeolite filter
-Reactor
-only 2x 2500 l/h power heads for water movement! (filter sponge is attached to each power head to remove detritus)
Maintenance:
-No water chances (Disturbs the water balance).
-The filter sponge are replaced every week
-Vodka method in order to maintain undetectable Nitrate en Phosphate levels.
-Phytoplankton for coral nutrition
-Coral Reef Element Mix
-The owner created his own sea salt by investigating natural seawater parameters by lab and added these element in proportion consistent with natural parameters.
His philosophy:
Keep your tank clean with filter sponge which are replaced every week, and no water changes! This will disturb your water balance. This tank has been running for approximately 3 years now and is absolutely beautiful! This aquarium proofs that there is no need to invest a lot of money in reef set up and operation costs.

In habitants:
-approx. 16 fish (most tangs)
-Different LPS, SPS corals
