How to Reinforce a Deck for a Hot Tub Spa The Spa Guy

The Spa Guy Gives general Information on How to Reinforce a Deck to keep the deck from sagging or even falling. It is very simple and you can buy the materials at your local lumber yard. In a Case where the Deck is less than 4' off the ground you would need (4) Pressure Treated 4x4x8's and (4) Pile On Blocks that hold a 4X4, (4) Galvanized Twisted Straps to hold the 4x4's to the deck joists and lastly (4-8) 2" wide flat straps to hold the legs to the cross beams. Simply hang (2) 4x4x8's about 1' in from the width of the Hot Tub across the joists touching as many joists as possible with the length, then about 1' in from the other length of the Hot Tub place the Pile On Blocks as flat as possible and cut 4x4's the length needed to touch the hung 4x4's and the blocks tap the legs into place with a 3-5lb hammer and install the 2" wide straps from the hung 4x4's to the legs either one one or both sides the keep the legs from moving and you have reinforced your deck. You should do this when there is no water in your Hot Tub. Fill after the installation!
