  • The Avetts put me onto Jessica... Thanks Avetts :)

  • @Hibbs mine too lol im not self conscious about it anymore now

  • check out avett brothers version of this song, good stuff!

  • she wrote this when she was fifteen. what a bad ass.

  • @BlueAvenue22 Actually, I go to this club in historic North Carolina to watch live performances, and a lot of the artists do in fact throw off the tune a little bit to give it a more raw and less refined sound. For the same reason, a lot of them switch to worn strings, as they say newer strings sound to clean. Anywho, love this song. If you want to see a great cover by two amateur artists, search for channel TheWeightOfLies. Those two have some great talent to share.

  • @BlueAvenue22 Awesome, finally someone with a real view on musical quality. It's not what you play - it's how you play it. AMEN!

  • effortless

  • Wow, impeccable performance!

It wouldn't be as great if her voice weren't shaky and if her guitar weren't slightly out of tune.

  • @onlyeyesabove It's not 'just stupid' as I said many musicians do that. And yes I am a musician I've been active for the past seven years and have been trained formally. Ever so slight dissonance on chords can imitate the natural decay of tones in true reverberation, adding an airy and almost ethereal quality to your playing. Whether or not she did this on purpose is conjecture, but the result is a legitimate one whether intentional or not.

It pays to be open minded. Cheers.

  • @BlueAvenue22 what are you talking about? do you even play an instrument? dissonance and reverb are two completely different things, if they wanted reverb they woulda just put reverb on it. and this is the only song from te whole performance that her guitar was out of tune, she probably tuned it right after, its not that big of a deal i mean it was live, but dont try and say she put it out of tune on purpose because that is just stupid
