Why we have blind spots - and how to see the blood vessels inside your own eye!

I've made a lot of videos about juggling (and will continue to!) as well as minecraft. This is the first video I've made about a passion of mine that's larger than the other two combined - science! I hope to create videos which explain scientific phenomena at a well-researched middle level of detail.

I am studying cognitive neuroscience at Brown University, and the trick in this video was shown to me by Professor David Sheinberg. A big thanks goes to him for all the awesome stuff he's taught me!

Sorry, but I'm not a doctor! There's probably nothing wrong with your eyes, but if you're worried about it you should go and see an eye doctor. Take care!

This blew my mind and baffled me at the same time because I happened to be holding the screen at the perfect distance when you drew the crosshairs so in my eyes I watched as your hand drew "invisible" crosshairs. Now my question is how come I could see your entire hand in my blind spot when drawing the crosshairs but not the crosshairs themselves? It's a blind spot how did I see your hand in it?
