It could be a problem with the HD format used by some cameras. FCE had some problems with AVCHD in the past, but that was fixed in the latest version (I believe it is version 4)

Same problem with me.

Hmm, sounds like a bit of a tricky one. I guess a workaround would be to import to imovie, then copy the clips into final cut. Also, check you have the latest updates for Final Cut, as it could be a new camera support problem.

I am having a hard time importing from my sony hard disk drive only into final cut. Imovie08 no problem. My camera hooked up via. usb and as soon as I open Imovie08 It detects my camera and away she goes...But in final cut it does not see my camera. maybe i need to change some settings. I go to the Log and transfer but they just dont import. Can you help me out on this..thanks Oh I sub.

Hi there,
not sure exactly what the issue is with your Samsung camera. try check all the connections and that the camera is in playback mode.
Sorry I'm not much help!

Hmm, it could be something to do with the type of camera. See if it works in iMovie 09, chances are if it does, it isn't supported in FCE.
