  • why dont yall just buy a couple of big traps in stead of a bunch of em litle traps

  • because we can't use the big crab pots in the MD portion of the bay. Only Commercial crabbers can use those..

  • i remember a time when you could catch 8 inchers no problem, but now.....

  • i love DE-MD crabbing, you should try painting ur crab pots yellow,i run trot line in st.micheals,MD man what a place,i love there marina you can crab all day then take a short break and ride on over to there marina and fuel up ur boat and grab some food

  • I have the same traps but mine have 3 springs per trap.

  • @brianczaw just saying, i copied and pasted this from the MD DNR website. = OWNER OF PRIVATE SHORELINE PROPERTY

■Creel limits vary depending on whether the crabber is licensed or not - see Individual Crabbing information above.

■2 crab pots from a private propoerty or pier or within 100 yds of shore and attached by line

  • @brianczaw Ok, i'll check it out. Thanks though and god bless... happy crabbing :)

  • @Mightylite94 Go for it then, but you better check the MD DNR regs.. I just did.

  • @brianczaw Yeah. The officer also said that if they find the traps "illegally set, all they do is confiscate them". I am a big supporter of keeping our bay the way it was, and i only keep legal limit crabs and absolutly no females... but it really is fine to fish upto 3 pots without a pier. That is if you have a maryland rec. crabbing license...

  • I wouldn't if I was you. you have to be on a private pier owner and its 2 traps.

  • @brianczaw yes you can. I asked 2 Maryland watershed officers about it and they said up to 3 pots, but you can only keep 1 bushel per person.

  • @brianczaw o im in tx and thats al we use
