Hot on the heels of a Saturday night that was suppsed to be cheap and laid back, not mention one where I'd be in bed by 1am, my Sunday evening was booked for a 4 hour Karaoke nomihodai (all-you-can-drink) Party.
I sang through the soundtrack of my life, including Weezer's El Scorcho, Photograph, The Verve's Drugs Don't Work, Bing Crosby's White Christmas, KC and the Sunshine Band's Get Down Tonight. I ended the night with The Cars' Just What I Needed, and also did a request from a drunken pal in the States who IMd me and asked me to sing The Joker by Steve Miller.
I also sang a lot of 90s grunge back up for Dimitri, delighted at Yoko's upbeat J-pop and love songs, and was amazed by the pure rock pouring out of lil Tomoko's mouth with her Japanese punk and alt rock selections. I can't wait to sing with them again.
