Last Autumn (2008) was very good for Humpbacks. Because of the distance offshore (2-5 miles, sometimes more)their antics are not always clear although breaching, tail waving, tail lobbing and pectoral fin slapping are visible and clearly identify the activity as "Humpback" as opposed to Fin or Minke Whale, although just to confuse Minke Whales do breach off West Cork. Galley Head, West Cork is a good place to start with a good set of binoculars. Thanks for commenting. Hope this helps.
