The Black Crowes performing Clouds Conspire Saturday Night Live. Probably 1991 or 1992.

I think this is the best version of this song. The studio album recording is too slow and has very little passion.

Sorry T.V. quality is bad and the audio is as good as it's going to get so turn it up loud.

  • I think it was 1993 on SNL (according to wikipedia and I'm pretty sure they're right) right around the time they released the Southern Harmony record.

  • This is the best quality version of this song that I could find. I know it's shitty and my bad the song is called NONFICTION. But the album version sucks. If you can find a better version tell me cause as far as I know this one is not on Youtube.

  • @spider17 i watched this as it happened,i have loved this tune since that night. the early hour of me and chris' 26th birthday.

  • This performance is from December of 1992. Glenn Close was the host. I still have the VHS tape. Could not believe they had the balls to go on SNL - the biggest TV stage for a rock band back then - and instead of playing a hit song to sell a record, they decided to play a song no one had ever heard. Retitled "Nonfiction", it wouldn't be released for two years (1994's "amorica.").

  • I remember seeing this when it debuted and then witnessing it live on the Amorica or Bust Tour!

    Good Times!

  • this is freaking unbelievable. anyone know where you can get a better quality video?? (sorry camera guy)

  • I've always liked this rendition of Non-Fiction rather than the studio version

  • I too saw this when it was aired and after seeing the Southern Harmony tour i was blown away. I remember thinking it might have been a cover of some Dylan song i'd never heard. I taped it and still have it on vhs. I was also blown away by Marc's hat. '92 - '97 Crowes still the coolest band EVER! Well, maybe besides the '66 - '69 Beatles. And Nonfiction NEVER sucks! And try Crowebase instead of Wikipedia.

  • still better than the version I have on vhs!sometimes salvation was the first tune.they did.thanks for posting, havent seen it since the dvd was invented

  • @EnlightenmentANAVRIN you are absolutely right...i remember watching this when it came on and wondered what the hell this song was..but i knew it was awesome
