This is one of my so-called 'soundscapes'. My method is in essence a simple one: I combine different sequences or samples of different musics, in order to shape a new sound that reveals a musical result in a new context.
Initially, this soundscape might sound a bit bizarre and scary, but no doubt you'll soon find out that it's perhaps just a weird and funny kind of sound. The pictures are from the worldwideweb.
The most important 'elements' used in this soundscape are:
- a track from the soundtrack of the film 'THX1138' (directed by George Lucas), composed by Lalo Schifrin
- a few soundbites from Finnish composer Aulis Sallinen's 6th symphony
- a few soundbites from the opera 'Noach' by dutch composer Guus Janssen
- several sequences of overtone singer Michael Vetter's chamber opera 'DuO oder auch Liebes-Szenen', a unique recording of brilliant vocal improvisations by Michael Vetter and Natascha Nikeprelevic
here it's only in mono, but you really should hear this in stereo!
have fun...
