WASHINGTON, DC—April 20, 2010—Peter J. Hustinx, European Data Protection Supervisor, today received the International Association of Privacy Professionals' 2010 Privacy Leadership Award for his work to ensure that individuals privacy rights are respected when European institutions and bodies process personal data or develop new policies.
Hustinx accepted the award at the IAPP's Global Privacy Summit in Washington, DC, where privacy professionals from around the world have convened for three days of education and networking. The IAPP is the world's largest association for the privacy profession and is celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2010.
The IAPP Privacy Leadership Award recognizes a leader in the field of privacy and data protection who has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to furthering privacy policy, promoting recognition of privacy issues and advancing the growth and visibility of the privacy profession.
