Ontario's Cascade River is rarely paddled... maybe once every five years. We most likely were the first group to paddle many of the rapids on this remote wilderness river. CASCADE RIVER (PART 1 OF 3) shows our uphill battle to get to the headwaters of the Cascade. The headwaters are located in Canada's Pukaskwa National Park which prevents a fly in start which means we had to paddle, push, drag, carry, and bushwhack our boats and gear 30 kilometers upstream and uphill. If it were any other river you would think we were going the wrong way.
