ABSTRACT
If happiness is an inner state, influenced by external conditions but not dependent on them, how can we achieve it? Ricard will examine the inner and outer factors that increase or diminish our sense of well-being, dissect the underlying mechanisms of happiness, and lead us to a way of looking at the mind itself based on his book, Happiness: A Guide to Life's Most Important Skill and from the research in neuroscience on the effect of mind-training on the brain.

Audio Brainwave Entrainment technologies will take you a long way, they will greatly increase the stillness of your mind and your levels of awareness, and hence support mindfulness and other traditional techniques and practices, they are like the rocket boosters on the shuttle: they will take to to altitude, what you then make of that altitude is up to you. I'm not against traditional methods, I'm just adding a powerful tool in order to get to destination much faster.

meditations in Buddhism follow a complex path combining both Samatha & Vipassana techniques to Niravana. Audio techniques might help one concentrate more but it along cannot achieve what Buddhism says.
