Well it's also freedom of speech to say how you truely feel. It's a double edged sword.

@nnytom my thoughts exactly, these people talk about freedom left and right and how North Koreans have none, yet when this man chose his own path he is called a traitor.
-
Why are people calling him a traitor or a pig, excuse me but if your gonna claim the US is the nation of freedom then his choice for going to NK and staying there is his and his alone.
This guy is a traitor and a pig because he chose for himself, was it a good choice? only he knows, but if were gonna talk about freedom and then demonize and insult him for his choice then don't talk about freedom.
Fantastic documentary.

@robaralis pigs squeal

WOW.... he is blaming the Great Starvation on the US and Japan. Seriously? I largely was caused by several factors: Over farming, government forcing farmers to grow opium instead of food, floods.... Fuck you Dresnok. I originally had sympathy for you. Goddamn traitor. You essentially had a tempter tantrum and defected. Fuck you and your piece of shit country.

the place seems very depressing.....i would probably drink myself to death too

Fucking traitor pig. Like wtf was he thinking, you abandon the greatest country ever and you go to live a life of nothing and a life of boredom. Like really if he could im sure he would come back to The United States of America.

Dresnok is a pig and a traitor. I just finished reading Jenkins' book, The Reluctant Communist, and he is much more credible, contrite, and interesting. And just think, Dresnok, you'll never have the ability to read this comment or Jenkins' book!

Joe Dresnok new wife is black and korean and his son is cute too.

This man looks like an asshole, thinks like an asshole and acts like an asshole. I hope the regime in NK falls before this idiots death and he finishes his life in prison like he deserves for all that he has done to his country, friends and human decency praising the NK regime.
This has got to be one of the best documentaries I have ever seen. Dresnok apears to have been destined to be a prisoner, first of unfortunate life's circumstances in a western society then of military life, next of North Korea and finaly his own mind and body. As in any prison the only way to find inner piece is to want what you got. Powerful story and great film making. I have one message for North Korean people: freedom is worth dying for.

Dresnok is clearly a creep. how he can non-nonchalantly admit to Jenkins wife being kidnapped by the DPRK but snap at the other claims of other kidnappings for the purpose of raising international spies. Additionally for Dresnok to callously admit to digging his fingers down Jenkins wifes pants, and that being the reason Jenkins is mad. i mean u have to be blind to not realize what a pig Dresnok is.
