  • does anyone know whitch pins (not numbered but named) i have to hoock up to what to make a jacobs ladder??

  • This guy obviously doesnt respond to comments or questions right now, so... Guz, that one open pin might be the ground pin.

  • @bnewton81

Take out 3-4,5v low current battery pack (like AA`s), switch primary winding on and off, try to get yourself

shocked by touching the positive wire and other wires with your other hand.

Or use a miltimeter, i was actually able to measure the resistance on scale of few millions ohms.

  • What does this test do? I have one flyback and one pin isn't connected to anything apparently, is it open?

What if i get a high or open ohm reading on a winding is that a valid way to test open or shorted windings?

  • how do you find the HV ground?

  • RIGHT, RIGHT!!!!! I JUST LOOOVE THAT ACCENT. really cute, you British people. Please don't let your accent get away as it seems all things are going. At least there will be some "tickles" for the U.S.A. if one of you visits here. (Don't worry, I konw that "Jolly Good" is no acceptable. :O).). I donate to your cause. (I speak in liue of the part time job only, slow sticker vheickes, THE BOX, Future consciousness Sin Unit, Higher Power, and Paradigm Shift for 8 and 12 years.) Again, LOVE it!

  • Hey Kubikop, I am messing with this stuff now, and I got an oddball transformer from a computer monitor. First I messed with it while it was IN the screen, I discharged it and unplugged the suction cup, flipped the suction cup, and cut open the second red wire, alligator clipped it to a long wire and put it on a stick. I plugged it in and pressed power, and got 2inch arcs!! But they werent a plasma stream, they were like lightning strikes. What do I do to get a lightning stream?

  • @juniortore1 thanks for the tips :D

  • @troyger1 Well, it looks rather impossible to wind on that core as I do not see any space on it to do so. If there is room, wind some thin wire around it. It would not be able to handle much current, but better than using the internal coils. I would hunt for another TV in the garbage or spend 8 bucks and get a random one on ebay that has room to wind some coils on

  • @juniortore1 how do you wind new windings on this fbt ? can you link me to a tutorial because i want as big and long arc gap i can safly get before thing become very hot
