Why was this called the new $25000 pyramid when it had been shown before with Bill Cullen?

Because people back then were getting confused with the two versions, particularly when Cullen's version started being rerun again in the middle of the decade (even though both versions have different sets, theme music, and hosts), so they put the word new on the title for about 2 years.
