Zygmunt Arendt House is the first building developed by Community Housing Partnership to exclusively serve senior citizens. This new construction project consists of individual studios, each with a full bathroom and kitchenette. Ten percent of the units are wheelchair ready and are fully accessible to people with disabilities. The remaining 90 percent are adaptable and can be easily and quickly modified to meet the accessibility needs of tenants, allowing them to age in place. The project includes a welcoming lobby, a courtyard garden, landscaped roof deck, laundry facilities, a community room with kitchen and dining areas, and offices for property management and voluntary on-site support services. All common areas are fully accessible to people with disabilities. Numerous sustainable design features have been incorporated, including energy efficient lighting and appliances, low flow water fixtures, recycled content flooring materials, and solar panels. The building is staffed 24 hours a day.
