@myskull54 What did you get the El Diablo?I have that with JJ EL-34's and Groove Tubes high gain 12ax7's and it has really great tone and nice distortion.

so i bought a mesa dual rectifier used from a local pawnshop and it didnt turn on so i then replaced the BLOWN fuse i found in it. then i brought it to a guitar shop and the guy plugged it in and 3 of the tubes didnt work..... yes 3 didnt light up. im wondering whether or not my mesa is fucked or if its simply just that i need to get 3 tubes? and thats its normal for 3 tubes to be broken and a fuse blown?

Sound and tone is relative to the player's preference. There is no correct sound or tone. It's rediculous to say that only tube amps produce good sound. What is "good sound"? Maybe some players prefer the sound of a solid state amp.
