A uber-popular book series from the 80s is making a comeback. Will it be the next Gossip Girl slash Twilight? Let's break it down.

Hi guys, I'm Joslyn Davis and you've reached Clevver TV.

Today we're chatting about the announcement that the popular 'Sweet Valley High' from the early 80s is getting transformed into a movie. According to reports, screenwriter Diablo Cody - who completed the hit 'Juno' as well as the recent 'Jennifer's Body' - is signed on to rework the chapters into a single, cohesive movie-going experience. Since the books date back to 1983 and the tv show to 1994, author Francine Pascal did update the covers and text for a 'Sweet Valley High' relaunch in 2008 - being sure to add in cell phones, blogs and other technologies. I'm wondering when the new film will take place? What's your take?

If you still itching to know what SVH is all about, the story follows two, gorgeous identical twins in high school. These gals are soooo different, with Elizabeth being sweet and caring while working for the school newspaper, and twin Jessica is a cheerleader who uses others to get what she wants, especially as a serial dater. Does this sound like a movie you're interested in seeing? Also, I gotta ask, have any of you read the 'Sweet Valley High' books and do you think there's a potential to have a big cult following for the movie? First SV was the first, Twilight and Gossip Girtl are just a fake TV series based of SV... They go through 3 junior proms, two Junior years, and umpos deaths... dances and proms are all about... I think that they go through 2 Christmas' in SVH... I have read all the books from all of the series and the series is too big to put into one movie... though I would like to see them try.

chances r they will fuck the movie up, they will make it into a huge comedy like the 21 jump street movie. and chances r they wont even find real twins to play the part but get one fucking girl to do both roles like hollywood does. if they do make a movie god i want the twins from the show to replay their roles, i dont care how old they r now
