@MrRatermat Shorn* post tense of shearing, is shorn. I live in the australian outback, and I can educate the English, on english?
Having correct positioning will calm it down significantly more than being calm with the sheep. As does letting them sit in the yards for a few hours to empty out their guts.
In the UK it wouldn't matter a great deal, as you wouldn't get large mobs of sheep at any rate.
@sovereign126 I have, in fact, sheared a sheep. Being gentle enough will calm it down and then it won't fight you. I have sheep at home and they love me, because, the first time they were sheared, they were handled quite roughly, before i bought them.
@MrRatermat I recommend you try shearing a sheep, especially going up the neck before you go all animal welfare army on the video.
Flat surfaces are required to run the handpeice through the wool. Even IF you could see the skin, you would not be able to shear it without A: cutting it and B: shearing it cleanly.
Please, know what you're talking about before you talk.
