My first in a 3 part Goodbye series to the lovely and wonderful David Tennant.
This first episode that I have done concentrates on the first of David's seasons with us, starting with the Christmas Invasion and focus' on his journeys with Rose. I was unlucky to miss the return of the Doctor in the likes of Christopher Eccleston, however, a very distraught Mother of mine after the Daleks at the end of His season, phoned me and said "why on earth have you not been watching this?" I took it on to catch up before the Christmas episode. And I am so glad that I did. Not a fan of Dr Who in the slightest before this (I know sacrilegious) I couldn't believe the power it bought.
Since then I have been an avid fan, awaiting each and every step of the Dr and his companions. The laughter and fear, the tears and the joy. Each episode was an amazement to me. I would go to say I am now truly converted!
I would like to think of this as an "Ode to David Tennant" as I truly believe he has made the Dr for me a truly magnificent character, and brought me into "Whodom" where I envisage remaining for many years to come.
I would like to thank all those behind Dr Who over the past 5 years, and cannot believe that David's reign as the Tenth Doctor has finally come to pass. However, Matt Smith my dear, you have big shoes to fill, and I truly believe that you are going to do us all proud. I am perched on the edge of my seat in anticipation and can't wait to see what new dimensions you bring us for the Eleventh Doctor. Bring it on Mr Smith!
Farewell David Tennant, I wish you well for all your future endeavours! You will be missed extremely in our household.
