Civil War and famine have been fueling Somali piracy for more than a decade, making many turn to the sea in search of the source of income. International naval forces have been stepping up patrols in the area. But here they are behind enemy lines. The place has turned into a navigators nightmare and a Pirates Paradise. In the past, Western companies, mainly from Switzerland and Italy, paid Somali clan leaders or warlords small sums to dump waste; with continuing mayhem, they have stopped paying. Now they just dump their waste and leave, according to the UNEP. Swiss and Italian dumping of waste in Somalia violates international treaties to which both countries are signatories.

Somalis did not fuck their country its the foreigners who have been meddling their affairs since 1991 especially the ethiopians, the've been lying to the world by uttering the word "TERRORISM" and the west meddles the suffering SOMALIS in a negative way that furthers the crisis. then everyone blames the somalis for their misfortune. the mafia dumps toxic waste at sea after they collect money from bad companies.

Somali pirates are fishermen who's lively hood had been destroyed by Western countries. Our boats fish illegally in their waters. Our companies dump toxic waste on there doorstep. Then we have the ignorance to condemn the only way they now have to survive. Aslong as they are not killing people then i hope they continue to make millions from Western companies who have destroyed there lifestyle.

@Popajaja It's the Slave Trade all over - you give poor people an unlimited opportunity to purchase wealth and they go on to destroy their economy/environment pursuing it.
