@timafi Hewitt always seemed to me he was playing a great style in the wrong era were he could be easily overpowered.
-
Best forehand ever vs best backhand ever
-

best days of gonzalez

@joseph0086 Hewitt played the dirtballer era in the likes of Moya;Ferrero and Kuerten who couldn't do shit on grass or hard courts.
He had the likes of Roddick who couldn't hit a proper backhand;who stayed 2-3 feet behind the baseline;couldn't hit a volley or change the speed or pace of the ball and moved horribly.
Hewitt's game if you see is to go cross court to crosscourt.Now players serve big;are fast and return big and will out overpower him and hit him off the court.

@JL6293 Roddick lacked a backhand/net play;wasn't fit ;couldn't return well or move;didn't last 40 shot rally;stayed 2 feet behind baseline 2 return;he got exposed
Federer is so much more than just a big forehand and creative serve.he's got speed/movement; the forehand;backhand;slice;drop shot
approach shots/net play;is great at defense;even more than Hewitt can ever be and Federer is superb at defense 2 offense.He returns better than Hewitt/Roddick combined and Federer is an ALL surface player

Well, I'm Chilean, but Gonzo playing Davis Cup, or Olympics, would kick anyone's ass. Just ask to James Blake. On 2006, he played the first point against Feña, and he was 76 60 and 53 (30-0) up, but Gonzo won that match, he was 20 and Blake 6. and he beaten Roddick (no. 2 on athens 04), 64 64, and an injury put gonzo out of a chilean final.
PD: Why English speakers talk on a chilean video, he kicked hewitt's ass that night.

I never thought of Hewitt as a consistent slam winner. He's certainly a candidate for Hall of Fame and stuff, but like most men nowadays, he's playing in Federer's era. Not very lucky, wouldn't you say?

No way Gaonzo could win a slam in his career, he's just not good enough. An entertaining player to watch , but not in the same league as slam winners
Must have been irritating to play gonzalez. Takes all pace of his backhand, then on his forehand the pace is almost unplayable
