At the 2011 ABSOLUT Fringe Festival, innovative Irish dance company Genesis Collective will present a newly commissioned trio specially created by eminent US choreographer Deborah Hay (http:/www.deborahhay.com/) for acclaimed dancers Ella Clarke, Cindy Cummings and Julie Lockett. This will be Hay's first choreography specifically created for Irish-based dance artists and is the inspired manifestation of these artists' involvement with Hay and her work. A Lost Opera will be created with direction from award-winning Irish director Jason Byrne (http://www.loosecanon.com/)

Deborah Hay is a Bessie Award-winning choreographer and was one of the founding members of the Judson Dance Theater, one of the most radical and explosive 20th century art movements. Her work is at the cutting edge of international contemporary dance and her choreographies are now being commissioned and performed by internationally renowned practitioners and dance companies. Commissioning artists include choreographers: William Forsythe, Mikhail Baryshnikov and Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker.

Clarke, Cummings and Lockett have been working with the choreographies of Deborah Hay since 2002. They have collectively commissioned 9 of her solo works (2 of them gifted) and performed 7 adaptations nationally and internationally. They have actively maintained a creative exchange with Hay via their participation in her annual Solo Performance Commissioning Projects, attendance at numerous international workshops and a sustained dialogue through Hay's mentorship of Genesis Project Dublin. This latest collaboration represented the culmination of these years of work together.
