I watched Ramar as a small child. It was on I believe in 1952-53. Then it went into syndication. Most scenes were filmed in some guys backyard jungle garden in L.A. Although it looks very camp now, it got me interested in animals & Africa. Lots of episodes are on line if ya look for them.

I remember watching this show when I was a kid during the '60s.
And considering that it showed a black man as an equal to a white man, it was surely ahead of its time.
