I lost my home and my job, health insurance and eveything. SSDI continued to fight me.

I fianlly gpot SSDI, and qas treated so bad, so miserable, I was dismissed as a kook and drug seeker because I was in severe chronic pain.

I continue fighting for my life. I recently spent 6 months in the Veterans Hospital fighting for my life. If I had only medi-cal, trhough SSDI, I would be dead.

SSDI applicants are treated like welfare applicants.

First of all - thank you for your valuable service to our country. It makes me sad and angry to hear how poorly Veterans are treated in this country for all the sacrifices they make so our lives can be better. Something is severely wrong with that!

What happens when a person can't afford huge doctors' fees, lawyers' fees and just does not medically (and possibly emotionally) have the wherewithal to go through such a strenuous antogonistic process?

Thank you for sharing. My deepest sympathy to hear what you've been through. The new government in UK is also about to do the same, they are about to cut disability benefits saying these people should work for benefits. If you don't go along with the demands they stop all benefits.

RSDROC, I am sooo sorry......I know this story well; I am living it myself. Nothing dehumanizes you more than being unable to work in the US of A. No one really cares though because they don't think it can happen to them. They also think, even if they don't say it, that you are responsible for your situation.

P.S. I have no hope for the future either.

I am so sorry, RSDOC.....I know personally this story. The way our country treats people who can no longer work is criminal. We become powerless, worthless people -- often even to those who claim to love us.

Poverty can turn the best people into the worst people. This is what they want. Population control. The rich get richer, the poor fade away and die.

Living in America is pointless and difficult, and even dying in the "good ol'" usa is troublesome when you don't know who will pay for your funeral or even if you will be able to have one. I don't want to be cremated, but it looks like my only other option is to go sink myself into the mud in a swamp somewhere and let nature pay the bill.

Last October, I got both my arms and elbows shattered by a drug addict with a baseball bat. He's in prison now, and living far better than me. I haven't been able to work since then, and my right arm will never be fully functional again.

I have $0 income. I have not gotten ANY government assistance, not even food stamps. I live on saltines, ramen noodles & "handouts". My body is withering away, and I look forward to death. I hope the USA gets invaded so the rich will learn about suffering.
