One of my favourite songs from the puppy.
The song Icebreaker from the album bites,released as a LP in 1985 and reissued 1993 on CD with additional material.
A slightly different version of the song is also on the album Remission.

Fucking awesome synth bass sound. Ice is the word.
Also that metallic high hat, like a razor blade skittering across your teeth.
Bites is brilliantly produced, which is why it's still creepy after 20 years.

I played this wunnerful tune for a square friend of mine c.'86 and watched this look of horror creep across her face... "That's DEVIL music!", she squeaked. "Turn it OFF!" So I threw Pet Shop Boys 'Please' at her and told her to calm down. She looked at the CD cover, likely thinking 'What next?' "They're GAY!", she yelped. I LAUGHED and laughed... God I miss her...
