Shortly after 5 a.m. Monday, December 6, 2010, Baltimore County firefighters were dispatched to a reported furnace fire at 16 Warren Lodge Court in Cockeysville (Fire Box 17-19). First-arriving Engine 17 reported heavy smoke showing from a 3-story garden apartment building and quickly requested a second alarm response. Flames quickly vented through the roof and out multiple windows of the building. Due to the intense fire and worsening conditions, the incident commander ordered defensive operations. Firefighters laid multiple supply and attack hoselines, and used master streams from multiple ladder trucks to battle the fire. Baltimore County's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management and the Red Cross responded to the scene, helping make arrangements for 10 families who were displaced.
