Słynny odkrywca, sir Richard Francis Burton (Peter Wingfield), budzi się w zupełnie nieznanym mu świecie. Dowiaduje się, że zmartwychwstał w sielankowej dolinie, zwanej Światem Rzeki. Podobny los spotkał wielu innych byłych mieszkańców Ziemi. W tych przedziwnych zaświatach Joanna d'Arc rozmawia z Szekspirem, Napoleon przyjaźni się z Hitlerem, zaś Burton zawiera znajomość z Alice Hargreaves, która zainspirowała Lewisa Carrolla do napisania "Alicji w Krainie Czarów".

    Why? Overdubbing a movie keeps the population unable to understand another language or get the full experience of the actors' performance. In my opinion it is outright disrespectful towards the actors because acting consists of both sound/speaking and the visual parts. The experience is therefore incomplete and of an inferior quality, which is not deserved by the actors.
