Rosie is a young Quarter Horse mare who lives at the rescue where I volunteer.

This is our third time working with the clicker and her third session working with targeting. This is her second time working on figure eights.

I'm using the target to teach her a figure eight pattern. Later, I'll rely less and less on the target, and start cueing her using body language and hand signals.

  • Great video, you can really see her working it out. I've tried this too with a target, but I used a longer target and stood more central, this is something you could work towards, so that eventually you cue her to do a figure of 8 around the barrels instead of following you/target around. This is what I'm trying to achieve - not easy though!
