Pit bull attacks owner after adoption

WARNING, SOME IMAGES SHOW BITE INJURIES! Kip Legaard adopted a pit bull named Mojo on Friday. He says the humane society told him the dog was nice. "The lady's like he's so sweet, so sweet, so sweet," Kip said. On Saturday Kip says that out of nowhere the dog suddenly lunged at him. "All of a sudden BOOM the dog had my arm," he said. "It felt like someone put my arm in a hydraulic press." Legaard's arm was bleeding and then the dog attacked again. He managed to free himself and run inside into the bathroom. Bleeding from his wounds Legaard called 9-1-1 and waited until the dog went downstairs before he bolted from his house into a waiting ambulance.

Isn’t there a risk with all adoptions? Probably half the dogs from shelters are unstable. They can be puppies and still come with loads of health and temperament problems. You never knew their background. They could be from backyard breeders who couldn’t sell their puppies, from a puppy mill that got shut down or from an animal hoarder. It is always a risk no matter what the breed or age. Adopt or get from REPUTABLE breeders. If you want to adopt ask the workers questions about the dog u want!

This is so sad, see media makes me not want to adopt adult pitt bulls, if I ever got one, i would start out with a pup. Maybe they need more domestication with NO dog fighting..stupid people fighting dogs, this is the reason why pitt bulls are hard to trust, because most pitbulls instincts are to fight. poor pups.
