I had this on in my headphones at work and was jamming out at my desk. My coworker next to me was like, "Good song?" I replied, "Hell yeah!" He came over for a listen and the look on his face was priceless! :)

This composition is in the style of a Negro Spiritual; very creative indeed.

Mmmmmm.. just discovered Kapustin... Brilliant.. the skill adn detail adn divercity of classical composition with the soul of funk, a heart of the blues and the mental fire of jazz... a potent cocktail

Wild about this! The composition, the pianist--just fantastic in every way.
Hamelin may be the go-to-guy for Kapustin. Go-to-girl is Yeol Eum Son.:-)))

Toccatina Op. 36 by Nikolai Kapustin (composed 1983) has a catchy tune indeed, and this toccatina is performed excellent enough to lighten the spirits up of a sad listener.....
