@Axeman89 The other way around.
-
should be more staccato chords in music
-
defo US garage was first-Sonics & Novas were first recording or playing live 1962-1964.
Still, both sides of the pond, garage or freakbeat, it was bloody good then & it ain't deteriorated at all in over 40 years!

Uber mods.....heavy Kinks(You Really Got Me) influence for sure
-
@truethought62 - Yes, I actually own that LP. Nice try, and give 'em credit for good taste, but the Eyes original version is considerably better. As far as the geneology of the main guitar riff, it's clearly based on the Who's "Can't Explain", which in turn is based on the Kinks "You Really Got Me", which can be traced back to the Kingsmen "Louie Louie"...
-
@TheFacelessK which is itself a take of The Who's "I Can't Explain."

Nice song, i find a similarity with "Your'e gonna miss me" too.
60's are top.

All you fellers comparing this to American garage are WAY OFF THE MARK! this band and other relatively obscure like em, Creation,Action,Artwoods and others, did these sounds first. It were the Americans who took the British sound, creating their own(sound)and in the process making some of the best music in global history, like, ever.
doesn't anyone else think of 13th Floor Elevators "You're Gonna Miss Me"?? I keep anticipating the bubbling jug sound...

This also sounds like The Nazz's "Open my eyes" does anyone have The Eye's version of "Stepping Stone"?? I've heard its very rare and I can't find it anywhere.

it rings a bell, but can't think where...must have all the other eyes tracks, have all the stones covers...i think they would have done a good version.
