  • Please tell me the technique for dry brushing..I recently started these kits up again and I just hand painted them. They look ok but I'd like to add alot more detail...

  • @wastemgmt07 and now those 50 cents magazines cost at least $20 on amazon/ebay.

FM magazine back when magazine shops, and the stores that sold models, had wooden racks and shelves, not plastic or metal.

  • The Mummy was the most fun to do paint 'experimentation' with. I did alot of wiping off and repainting to give him the old worn look. Life is good

  • @monk22yrs Famous Monsters of Filmland was THEE favorite mag' to buy as a kid....well that is next to MAD. But I'm glad you mentioned it. It was so chock full of cool pictures and stories.

  • Wow the paint detail is amazing, so is your video presentation. I have all of the Aurora kits built. Every time I think i did the best paint job on my monster model, somebody comes along and shows me up!!!!!!! Just beautiful models. I'll keep mine till i die.

  • these kits used to cost 99 cents each.

and if the stores didn't have them, the magazine FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND sold them.

  • i still have mine, the forgotten prisoner is my fav

  • great show! You are an awesome modeller! I enjoy the video- feels like Im hanging out in a basement as a kid making models and watching monster movies on tv at the same time. I hope to find an episode you did with monster models with the glow in the dark faces and hands. I think they came out in the late 60s/early 70s when I was about 5 yrs old. A lot of my friends had them-

  • i used to play with these all the time, they were my dad's. long lost in a flood.

  • I still have my Monster Models...Love Them, for anyone who might like to buy the Re-issue's,try EBay,their not cheap, But they come as they were sold in the 60's.
