  • "You could be almost brain-dead and play Carcassonne."

Same's true for Go. Simple to learn, hard to master. A single move can change the entire flow of the game. You need to look at fine details and the big picture.

To win in a game of Carcassonne you need to be strategic, creative, and meticulous. To win a game of Catan you need good starting position, some lucky roles and a half-decent strategy.

The reviewer on the right would destroy the one on the left in a game of Carcassonne.

  • I got both on XBLA and both are fricken fun as hell.

  • Somehow I get the feeling white tshirt guy doens't think highly of Carcassonne...

    go watch /watch?v=fr9Hq0FsGQs

  • I like both games very well, but what I like about Carcassonne is that you almost always get another chance. Someone screws your city up? Then you focus on your other city or pasture. There's always something else to do. It's easy to learn Carcassonne. Anyone can win. But there's a difference between an amateur player, and someone who can see the potential in every chip he draws. In Settlers, you can easily get choked completely by a single move of a lucky opposing player, making it pointless.

  • very boring video but very imformative, thanks,,i think i am going with Carcassonne

  • lol just remembered that there's probability in dice-rolling as well, but like they mention, not so much in a small number of dice rolls.

  • I hate rolling dice! Carcassonne involves luck, but the more you play and the better you know the composition of the tile deck, the more decisions can be based on probability

  • Ur in tom vasels house!!!

  • I prefer Catan, I've played both, but I like it better

  • This was very boring to watch...

  • @ZeroKelvin ok so i've been trying to research carcassonne, and you seem to know your shit, can you please give me a detailed explanation on why carcasonne is worth buying???? ps i know nothing about it!!

  • One of the reasons Carcassonne is popular because couples can play it alone. Can't play 2 player Catan, can you?

We like it because it's great 2 player, set up is super fast, putting away is super fast, luck plays a role, but not an overwhelming role most of the time.. You can play casual or really plot...
