Good stuff, looking into getting a cold steel. Thanks for the reviews. They might not pay you, but they should haha.

If anything this was a valuable gift because it allowed you to do a new sort of review and see what else is out there. I like how you continue to give it merit despite being damaged by the bone (perhaps for lighter carving tasks it's a good standby). It also does seem to throw well.

Bummer to see your present not preform. Good honest review. Thanks

Great vid. Looks like the Cold Steel for the win.

Good review. Your honesty and objectivity is greatly appreciated! Looks like Cold Steel wins again and just because a product is made in a particular place, it doesn't necessarily mean its good (made in the USA ) or bad ( made in Taiwan ). Looking forward to my Trail Hawk arriving in the mail. Keep up the good work. Be safe out there.

You are right about that, a good product is a good product. I just feel a tad guilty buying so many out of country things, you know the whole employ your neighbor thing BUT if the product does not stand up then it dosnt warrent praise. I hope you enjoy your trail hawk, I was a little leery purchasing mine it just looks so small... but very capable and one of my favorites!!! Thank you for your comment

Great vid. That edge looks dented like an old fishing sinker. I got the same hawk about six months ago. I wanted to upgrade from my CS hawks. After serious modding, the results were still inferior to my CS hawks. I concur with everything you said. I ended up giving it to my brother for Christmas.

I had high hopes for this hawk at first (after sharpening) but the end result was a
NO-GO. The blade shape itself is great, but its all downhill from there.

Good vid! Two things. 1. I would make a new handle in your shop for it, the way you want it. And 2. when copping, try to use a weaver stance (firearms stance) while copping down. The reason I say this is I noticed your shin and the swing of the blade appeared to be very close a couple of times. And we all know, it only takes one time to say oops! Stay safe and happy 2012! May you and your family stay safe and prosper.
