It Was A Beautiful Day With The Blue Sky Mottled By The Clouds.Holy Trinity Cathedral was filled with Georgians as St George Day was celebrated by St George's College students and well wishers.

The choir and the students sang with gusto bringing back memories of my younger days. Fr. Peter McIsaacs gave a wonderful sermon as he always does.

After the Mass there was the announcement of the newly elected Headboy. Apparently this went through a pretty complicated process and was still very close, but Jezeel Martin won the day. He seemed extremely popular. Congrats Jezeel.

The marching band then lead the students the Principal and guests down South Camp Road, west along North Street and finally into Winchester Park. This march was colorful and the band reminded us that it's coming up to Carnival time!

In the meantime while the march was taking place the School's Cadet Force gave a competent display of raising the school's and the Jamaican flags on the newly erected crisp flag poles that are now stationed beside the historic entrance gate.

This was followed by the Principal Mrs. Margaret Campbell giving respect and praises for the wonderful contribution made by past students and conferring Knighthood on Richard Lake, Ian Wong , Fred Kennedy (who was also representing the Ontario Chapter of the Old Boys), the late Ambassador Lloyd Barnett and Christopher Berry. Tony Wong and Lloyd Tenn were also honored with a special plaque for their contribution.

Mrs. Campbell was presented with contributions of Ja$1m from Ambassador Lloyd Barnett representative. This will go towards the Lawrence Burke Building. Ja$100,000 from the Ontario Chapter was given towards the school's athletic team to attend the Penn Relays.

Other Old Boys seen in attendance were Basil Lue, Anthony Irons, Clive Chambers, and special guest Trevor Palmer, the President of the Florida Chapter.

Of course, the students made it a big day with their displays of art and science projects which were scattered around the school.

It was a wonderful Day and I would like to thank the Principal and her staff and the students who had put a great effort in producing an unforgettable St. Georges Day. I hope the few images I have attached will do the day justice.
