Speeding motorcycle won't you change me
in a world of funny changes
speeding motorcycle wont you change me

speeding motorcycle of my heart
speeding motorcycle always changing me
speeding motorcycle don't you drive wrecklessly
speeding motorcycle of my heart

many girls have taken you out for a ride
hurt you deep inside but you never slowed down

speeding motorcycle of my heart
speeding motorcycle let's be smart
because we don't want a wreck
we can do a lot of tricks
we don't have to break our necks
to get our kicks
speeding motorcycle the road is ours
speeding motorcycle let's speed some more

because we dont need reason and we dont need logic
because we got feeling and were damn proud of it

speeding motorcycle theres nothing you can do
speeding motorcycle i love you
speeding motorcycle let's just go
speeding motorcycle lets go, lets go, lets go

  • You should hear the origional. The one where they called Daniel up on the phone at the mental institution and had him sing it. Fucking intense and sad and unbeleivably great.

  • One of the greatest songs in my lifetime

  • that the pastels have also covered this song makes this one of the luckiest songs on earth

  • lovely, lovelier , loveliest.

  • @ennuieffect you know the REAL daniel johnson judging from your comment. you and i should hang out

  • It would have been cool if it worked out that way...from the mental institution. Daniel was at his parent's house when he called WFMU when Yo La Tengo were on and that's the live radio version that was released on a 45 single b/w Do You Really Love Me? (live).

  • @rothwellss In other words, don't let the sun go down on your grievances...

  • @ericberner Actually that's not the original. Daniel recorded it in 1983. The 1990 performance with Yo La Tengo on WFMU live was done after YLT recorded it (as you hear it here) for their album, Facebook.

  • Life and loves journey encapsulated in the thrill of a motorcycle ride. Great stuff.

  • mental illness can effect anyone but should not be allowed to restrain people skill illness for anyone is hard but frustration illness can cause needs understanding and not confining LETS GO LETS GO LETS GO

  • @ericberner please link

  • @ericberner

I like the the song he wrote in the Looney Bin that he wrote about Mountain Dew.
