Part 1 - Inflight Airbus A380 Business Class Experience.

Complete flying experience on an Emirates Airbus A380. Business Class (Eastbound. JFK to Dubai. December 29th 2010. Night Flight) (HD)

This video was shot on the day the biggest blizzard in history hit New York/JFK (The Blizzard of 2010). The JFK was shut down for nearly day and half that left thousands of pax stranded. Incidentally, this Emirates A380 was the first flight to take off once the airport was opened the following morning.

Flight Details -

We take off from JFK at 6am for a 13 hour flight to Dubai. We land at Dubai at 3:20am (local time).
Much of the entire flight 13 hour flight was in the dark! We were served a meal upon departure and the crew went by closing all the window shades. Most of the passengers slept the entire way or watched theit TVs, it was really quiet.

Personally, I never really saw daylight! I did sleep for 5-6 hours in between and by the time I woke up, it was dark again. Anyways on this video here, you will see -

- the Airbus 380 Inflight Entertainment

Westbound from Dubai to JFK and the entire flight is during daylight.
The experience of the two is quite different. On that video I have a complete upper and lower deck cabin walk thru, different views out of the different sections of the aircraft as well a comparison of the different noise levels in different parts of the plane.

Wow. Not like any flight I've ever been on. Of course, I don't think I've ever flown on a double decker jet and didn't realize what that upper deck was for. So what did that business class ticket cost? And, pray tell, what would a first-class ticket cost? I'd love to visit Dubai (I think), but given the state of the dollar these days I doubt it will ever happen, and it certainly won't happen with a first- or even business-class ticket. I'd just sit with the tightly packed peasants below deck.

Prices are ever changing but you can look up the Emirates site for current prices (roughly from JFK-CCU Economy is $1400, Business is $4500 - $5000 and First Class may be like $10,000 :). Was this quieter or louder than your A330 takeoff from Calcutta (during cruise, which has the quieter cabin)?

@EmadIV The A330 is the quietest aircraft in aviation (prior to the launch of the 787 - I am not sure about the specs of an 787 yet)

@emirates202 I have to fly Economy this time to get the flying experience on 38- Economy. Last time I told them to forget my upgrade and stick with economy but they refused LOL

@seatgurus Thanks for the reply. Some reviews on the 787 said it is as quiet as an A380, but that could mean that the A330 is quieter. I just got confused because Airbus' website said that the A380 had a really quiet cabin, when my experience on the A330 proved quieter.

Try First Class on the A380-800 and make a video, that would be nice. A lot of people say it's good.
