G-damnit I wish someone would make up their mind and stop debating on when this occurred! Now someone's telling me that this was in fall 96? It couldn't have been 96 b/c ABC didn't go yellow until fall 97. I don't even know where you're getting this from.

The identity seen here actually dates back to the fall of '96. This ID was used for the 1996-97 season, which is also the first where ABC used "squeezed" credits.
After 1996 or so, ABC didn't unveil the new look for the next season until premieres in September.

Because Diana died Sept. 1 1997, so if they are talking about it, then it must be Sept. 1997. So the identity is from late '97.
