Apr. 12, 2011 CALIFORNIA GETS SPACE SHUTTLE, but Seattle gets the Full-Sized Shuttle Trainer. A Shuttle display that will allow visitors to enter INSIDE. Great News But now it's time to bring Concorde Indoors.

"Outside Concorde" is the actual title of this video. It is the sequel to "Inside Concorde" and takes a close-up look at many of the exterior features. This is dedicated to the many Concorde admirers the World over.

The 2nd meaning of the title is that this is indeed, an "Outside" Concorde. It is kept out of doors, along with several other Historic Aircrafts, in a parking lot across the street from Seattle's Museum of Flight's main building, It is exposed to all kinds of automobile and airport pollution. Worse yet are the damaging effects of the year around wet weather in Seattle.

Boeing and the Museum worked hard and spent big bucks to provide an "Indoor" Facility for one of the retired Space Shuttles from NASA. It went to California instead, but the new building can now be used for Concorde and perhaps other rusting aircraft. I just want to say: "Preserve Concorde for future generations. Bring Her indoors."

  • if i win the millions i will restore concorde to flying condition and hire pilots to fly it around the world promoting concorde and convince people to bring her back into service with every airling flying one if you agree with me thumbs up.but you have to admit atlease it ising thrown away to be scraped atleast people still apretiate it fuck the space shutle

  • @johnmw13 Sounds like a party, John. We're with you.

  • I can't believe the way this is kept outside with not a single thing to shelter or at least shield it from the weather...... But my god what a plane! I would of loved to flown on this magnificent bird.

  • @jblsound13 I know, right? I wish they would bring Concorde inside. They HAVE the room across the street in the main hall. They should do it soon too.

  • Future rust bucket :(

  • @shugabuns That might be it. I might be too early with my warnings of erosion damage. The Museum must already be aware of the problems of rust and they feel there is plenty of time before it can no longer be restored. Is the "Future" far enough away? The plane is impressive looking out doors, but would be just as grand indoors.

  • "What a concept!! Let's figure out what the wettest part of the U.S. is and then keep our 'never to be made again' historic aircraft on an outdoor parking lot there!!"

  • @ywmpg

I am in the USA now but used to live in the UK. I used to work at a company at the end of the runway at Heathrow. When this plane took off and we were at the tail end all the computers in the building would flicker and the windows would shake real hard. An unforgettable plane! Simple awsome in design and really pushing the limits of passenger engineering of the time. I plan to go to seattle and get on board on last time.

  • Air travel is alot slower these days :(

  • i wonder why they didnt make new concordes when the old ones were getting too old to fly T_T

  • Very Nice! Very rich of Details I`ve never recognized before. It looks like the Concorde has tip - down - Flaps at the front of It`s wings (?). Perhaps she was never really profitable, but one of the most beautiful Aircrafts ever constructed. Also lot`s of Innovations, like f. E. the first Fly by wire - system, however, no long sentences, she is just and only a beauty, no difference, from which perspective she is spected.

Auch von mir lieben Guß aus Hamburg, Deutschland,

    Stephan :)

  • Danke. Schönes Video.

    Lieben Gruß aus Deutschland (Germany)

    Ron

  • poorly stored, Even a car let out in the open will deteriorate slower than this
