Well there isn't actually a proper pronunciation because there's no mandated dictionary. I believe it's ackio because that's the movie pronunciation and she was a consultant on the film.

You know, we recognize some of John and Hank's greatest accomplishments - like puppy-sized elephants, "in your pants," tiny chickens, DFTBA, songs about sub-atomic particles, and the happy dance - but I think the single most important thing I've ever seen them teach is that Nerdfighters can stand up to Decepticons and giant squids of anger without fear, and PWN them with class and intelligence. Now THAT decreases world-suck.
