  • I love this tutorial! TFS!

I make fabric flowers (to put on elastic for headbands). Could I spray my fabric with this for glimmer?

  • @hkw1987 Yes for sure! I use it on fabric all the time!

  • Hi Julie! I want to give this a try, but am wondering how much hair spray to use? If I use 16 oz of alcohol, then how much hair spray should I add?? I really appreciate this tutorial, so thank you so much!! ~tina

  • @bleigh8793 hi Tina.. I honestly don't ever measure.. i just put in a "glug" or two! :)

  • I don't have any alcohol inks or perfect pearls to use for the color. Since my budget for scrapping material is limited I do you have any other suggestions.

  • @joinutica i have heard of people having some success with acrylic paints if you have some of those. Or, Koolaid or food dyes, RIT etc.. if you are worried about acid free.. I don't really know if those are acid free as I don't really worry about that. :)

  • TFS this. I made two with LA Colors Shadows and one with Pearl Ex...came out great. Just to let you know, went to Target this weekend and they have the spray bottles with the little filter for $1.00 if you want to stock up! LOL!!!

  • @juliewalters74 ha! ha! ha! Good enough then!! Thanks Julie!!

  • I really appreciate you taking the time to make these videos. They are helpful and entertaining. TFS, Gwen

  • @Ultimatecruegirl Part2

TKB also sells pure pigment powders. Not sure if these would be helpful in adding color or not. But I think they would.

Coastalscents (dot) com also sells mica pigments in sample sizes and by the oz. Look under make your own. I don't think theirs are pure micas though. Although I don't know that it would effect the glimmer spritz at all.

Ok I hope that somewhere in this long comment there was some helpful info.

Thanks again for all you do!

  • Warning long comment ahead! Julie thanks so much for updating us all on the homemade glimmer spritz. I so appreciate all your helpful tips and tutorials. I have a couple of websites you might find helpful. the first is tkbtrading (dot) com click on make up and then look for mica's. They sell mica powders in sample sizes of 1 Tbsp sizes for 1.50 (which I would think would be plenty for a small spritz bottle) or 4.00 for 4oz. which should be enough for a bigger spritzer.

    Cont.

  • This recipe is awesome and I'm going on a hunt for these eye shadows. We don't have your stores in Montreal but one never knows! Thanks a bunch for sharing this.

  • Hi There,

Thanks for the awesome take on Glimmers, and especially the little filters on the end of the sprayers, that's where my problem is.

I know Rosanne did a video to on eyeshadow's .

    Thanks for sharing

    xx :)

  • Thanks for your help

  • @junbug1029 Yes, they do! I forgot to mention that!

  • @joinutica It does come in other colors.. not sure how many..but if you only use the eyeshadow, your color will be very muted.. so if you are looking for more sparkle with just a tiny hint of color you could do that.

  • Does the LA colors come in many colors. Can you just use the eyeshadows for all different colors?

  • Fiona mention eye shadow too....awesome idea....I also put BB's in my bottles...then swirls them around to get everything moving......thank you for sharing.....now I got to get to the dollar store....

  • I started making mine with alcohol, too. I made some with Perfect Pearls and you don't need glue with them. I guess they have a fixative in them already. TFS! Joan

  • great idea I have to try it I'm on my way to the dollar tree.

  • Thanks for sharing this great tutorial!

    ~Kay

  • Thanks for sharing. I myself use hairspray, works great and the glue element is already in it. But I am going to try your idea also. Like the bottles to.
