  • This is also truly a labor of love! I think, we New Yawkers, who grew up with these shows really have a shared experience that no one, nowhere, no time could ever truly appreciate or comprehend. Chuck, Soupy, Sonny, Sandy, Officer Joe, Capn' Jack- running home from school to catch what you can @ 3PM onward....my life (as I'm sure all of you folks as well) has been immeasurably enriched. Thanks for putting these together! Obviously you have a big heart! A fan!

  • @Maxxnme Thanks again Michael ! Have a great week !!!

  • Is officer Joe still living?

  • @MrPickinbuddy He passed away in August of 1986. From what I heard, a lot of grown men shed a tear that day. Thanks for looking !

  • It's a shame there'll never be another group of TV performers the likes of Joe Bolton, Jack McCarthy, Soupy Sales, Sandy Becker, Ray Forrest, Shari Lewis, Buffalo Bob, Bob Keeshan and, of course, Chuck McCann!!! Thanks so much for posting this tribute.

  • @lednew2010 Thanks Led ! If you didnt see them, I also did tributes to WPIX & WNEW ! Thanks for looking !!!

  • @tonyny77 I agree. TV is total trash. Even the soap operas are running out of steam because of the likes of Jerry Springers. Who needs fantasy when you have TV reality right ? Such as it is. The only shows I seem to watch are TV Land, Antenna TV and the new ME TV that just started this week. Let them all drown in their abyss of trash. Ill take wholesome TV any day Tony !!!

  • @Johnnyboy792 ... You know, my wife is from another country, so all the shows I rent via DVD are news to her. Yet, she's come to enjoy the same old programming I enjoy, thank goodness. Furthermore, I happily point out something that usually appears at the conclusion of nearly all the programs I view: the Seal of Good Practice. Remember that? That Code needs to be put to use again, but few programs would qualify, I'm sure. Thanks for the chance to comment and thanks for your video!

  • @Johnnyboy792 ... Did any red-blooded NY kid not watch the shows hosted by the folks I mentioned? And don't think I've forgotten Buffalo Bob, Pinky Lee, Jon Gnagy, Fury, and Superman. I wouldn't give you a nickel for 95% of the programming offered on TV today, so that's why most of my TV entertainment takes the form of rented DVDs of my favorite '50, '60s, and '70s era programs. You might not watch TV as much as I do, but I think we might have similar tastes. I have a short story.

  • @Johnnyboy792 ... Johnny, I have a couple of things to say. I'd send you a message, but I'd like to share my thoughts, if you don't mind, with others seeing your video. As I said, sharing this precious video with us has made my year. It has special value to me because I was born and raised in NY and Captain Jack McCarthy, Officer Joe Bolton, Chuck McCann, the Merry Mailman, and even Soupy with his Philo Kvetch, were my regular companions and they helped children to grow up right.
