  • dont you mean harch off

  • no.. we're marching

  • I love this video! Can somebody please tell me the commands that the dude uses to get them in and out of the salute, because I can't understand him. xD;

  • It's 'Detail, present arms' to call the salute. and then 'Detail, Order Arms' to bring it back.

  • Oh, memories. I was trying to explain the supreme geekitude triumph of winning a DMA marchoff, and looking up videos to show what it was. I can still see George's eyes cutting through mine before getting to do the final 'present arms' and how thrilling it was. A thrill that only a fellow DMA alum could possibly appreciate. X-D

  • with our band director, our band could do this:)

  • Ooh man, the rapid fire Atten Huts and Parade rests. That never gets old. I actually won a march-off at the Texas DMA this year, and this is exactly how it was done .RIP George, so sorry I never got to meet you.

  • i just got home from GNPDMA at Kutztown University. first Academy there without George. one of my friends from a neighboring school won the march off at the parent viewing ceremony thing. i had a blast!

  • 2011's is today. I wonder if I was supposed to find this.

  • @youtubz192 Well nowadays pivots are considered outdated, since most bands don't use highstepping as their main marching style. Back in the day a lot of bands needed to know pivots because they would actually use them. A pivot is basically a right turn, except you highstep into it, and you don't continue moving forward.

  • @IncendiaryPistonOil Harch is just the comand, they say harch instead of march because it is ment to be said from a distance in a loud voice. It will sound like march when done that way.

  • @lakers012345 I believe it's also detail, present harm. The a and the s are long syllables that don't result in clarity.

  • R.I.P. George :/

  • haha i remember doing this, it was so intense. :] i enjoyed the whole minute and a half i was it :P

  • I attended DMA in 1989,1990 and 1991 in Western MA and won the final march off my last year. What a thrill and a moment I'll never forget. He sounded exactly the same 17 years later, wow. He will be missed.
