with the peddle assist did you consider direct drive and just have it die at stop signs then restart when you went to leave?

That would be nice, but then you couldn't incorporate a transmission, and it would be difficult starting up a hill with the vehicle weight and engine compression holding you back.

About 23 mph. I purchased a new variable speed hub at a pretty penny but have to make some frame changes for it to fit. Should have a better high and low ratio when done.

I pedal sometimes to get it started or when I'm going up my steep driveway. If you've seen a unicycle, thats how fast I go, but the motor is connected to the 6 speed gear cluster allowing me to go from 4 mph to 25 mph.

It certainly could be more aerodynamic or lighter (100 lbs) but I tried to make it small, simple, cheap and utilitarian.
