  • Hi are you going to plant this year?

  • Yeah, just filled out my seed order today, doing square foot gardning this year. just so you know I'm RedneckResponder this was my original channel.

  • do you get a lower yeild from the bw versus say an early girl or other hybridthis is my first year with old varieties and they dont have the crop size of the new ones.

  • Early girls are 4 oz. BW's are 1 to 2 lbs. so you need 4 to 8 EG's to equal 1 BW. Plus EG's have hardly no taste compared to BW's. If your weather is hot then blooms wont set right, when it gets about 80 during the day and 65 at night they will take off. We got 150 lbs. off each BW last year.

  • melt some Bee pollen and royal jelly in some warm water

and make one gallon of this mix add to fertelizer to feed plants

    Save the bees!

  • I am thinking of getting a few hives.

  • @matunbojo I had two big BLTs yesterday with yellow brandywines. Have a bunch more may make a video today.

  • Brandywine are the best tomato. I have Brandystripe this year.... very very good taste

  • yikes, sure looks like BW get tall & heavy

  • How many plants per trellis/support. I read you had "We got 150 lbs. off each BW last year"

Looks like I'll be needing more structural support for that BW. Especially if each BW tomato fruit weighs 1- 2 lbs.

  • good idea. that's a lot of excess stem/foliage. I'm doing sq ft and my 2 ft. brandywine is putting out 9 big flowers per cluster after only 3 weeks since transplanting. Her main stem is already as wide as a quarter from removing suckers daily.

  • you think tomatoes will grow better in richmond virginia?

  • Thanks I sure did not know. Thanks I enjoy your channel. The square foot garden is kinda what inspired my containers... Now I know lol
